About us...
jalakasa dry goods, formally, Howell Mountain Dry Goods (HMDG) was founded by a member of the Howell family in 2005. HMDG was purchased by Lisa Wagley in 2009. Lisa lives with her 4 children in Lake Monticello, Virginia near the home of Thomas Jefferson. Lisa's full-time job (besides her kids) is an Early Childhood Education Coordinator, an administrative position serving Shenandoah Valley Head Start working with 7 school divisions.
Lisa has kept many of the original HMDG recipes and products you have come to know and enjoy over the years. However, she is always looking for new product and recipe ideas - and has been trying to add new products each season. Please share your ideas through the testimonials link on this website or via email (see contacts page). We promise you will be rewarded for sharing your ideas!
In the Spring 2011, the name HMDG changed to JaLaKaSa (James, Lauren, Kathleen, Samantha), and took on a different look; however, we still create, produce, and provide the same great products and service you have come to know and enjoy.
